looking at setting up a larger tank for my maingano to be with 3 females in a set cichlid tank, anyone know an appropriate size for this setup, also, is it easy to set up a rockery with caves through it, and is it better to place the rockery in the corner or middle to allow for more territories to be established?

If you just want to keep the 4 Maingano's in the tank, a 40g or 50g would be enough room, just make sure you have alot of rocks. If you want to add other Mbuna, then a 75g would be a better choice.

You could place the rock in either the corner or middle. Whatever you prefer. They'll use the rock wherever you put it. Some people like to put rocks in each corner and leave the middle open....but whatever you like works.

thanks thats helpful, im looking at getting a 4 foot tank x 1 ft x 1.5ft for them so supposedly 45 gal. i reckon that should be enough for the 4 :)
