How to tell if cichlid swsllowed eggs

How do u know if your cichlid swallowed her eggs? Will she still have a lump under neck? She wont let me see in her mouth

If there isn't anything in her mouth the lump will be gone. It takes a while for mouthbroders to spit be patient

Yes I just figured it out this morning her lump is gone and she's eating normally. Just the babies are gone :-(

I always know by the lump and not eating, however I never wait for her to spit the babies out i always strip her when they are free swimming.

Was that her first cycle? Usually they dont know how to spit out! I stripped my cichlid after 22 days she may have spit them under rock or cave the male made! Check your tank!

Don't mean to "hijack" it is somewhat thread related.. What temp should you keep the tank set at when they're holding? I've removed my female and she's in her own tank right now. Still holding eggs.
