Here's a better shot.

I'm a little concerned with the lack of kok though...

Yep flower horn. Don't expect any tank mates with that one. If so be very careful.

Yes it is a flowerhorn lol. I have him in a 75g with a large Pleco and a school of buenos aires.

Does anyone have any idea why there is no kok on the head though?

It's the only fish I could think of that would have a shot of out-running the flowerhorn. I have them in there to add some "movement" to the tank. Any other ideas?

Actually those are good tetras for dithers. Do you know if its female or male. Also the kok won't start until it reaches adult size.

I'm pretty sure he is adult size. He's probably about a foot. He has his red eyes. I'm not sure of the sex to be honest. I've been trying to figure out if it's male or female since I got it but I can't tell.

I'm leaning toward female though because of the black spots on the dorsal fin.

I don't think females get it.

That sucks :/ oh well, I find the kok quite ugly if it gets too big anyway.

Do you guys know of any fish food that is high in fat? After researching, I found that fatty foods is what develops the kok.

I'm not much on hybrids even though I have one (Long story) But if I recall there is food made specifically for flower horns. I really would not just pick up food based on fatty ingredients. I cant see that being healthy. I would recommend New Life Spectrum Thera A + Garlic. Its all I feed except to my hybrid which gets Omega One and wont eat the NLS.
EDIT seems this is recommended by most flower horn keepers

Again I have no experience with them or this product.
