id peacock?

the breeder couldn't tell me what he was, he's grayish w stripes and has this pearly green shine all over. It's not really showing right now, though.Any guesses on how he will look grown up?

Still irresponsible since to order online you have to at least know what type and genus your ordering or does he just get sent a "grab bag" of fish?

Classic.. Well try to get a clearer pic and if it's a peacock and more than 3" it's a female and getting an ID off her will be even more difficult.

Not entirely no,

what about pointed anal fin.. this more reliable than multiple egg spots? I know I could try venting, but don't know if I could and don't want to stress the fish, thank you

I see zero color at all, it's looking more like a female to me.

I know, I thought I had 2 make ruby reds and turns out then one I thought was a dominant male was a female and stayed a silver grey

I haven't seen any mating behavior, but don't know, of course.. I have 15 now, everyone doing good, for now

Well, without knowing the species of her it's hard to tell if she's gonna be ok, I would rehome solely because I don't like having lone females in my tanks IMO its a waste of stock space.

Which photo has a ruby red in it? Hope he didn't rip you there either, alot if times red shoulder peacocks are sold as "rubin's" just to make more money.

I wanna say that a red shoulder but it's to blurry to confirm, and yea online is best for specific tank stock if your lfs doesn't have jack
