Any idea what this guys is? Is it compatible with cichlids like peacock and haps?

I think your are right mogurako.
After researching on google, I think it looks like a hoplo catfish. Funny looking guy...
 
+1 for a Hoplosternum species, most likely a young H. thoracatum. Hoplos definitely have the armor to protect 'em from mbuna and haps. I've seen 'em kept with various aggressive Central and South American cichlids. Never heard of anyone keepin' 'em with Africans. They may just do alright.

Thanks Wyite... I'll see how it goes with the Africans.
 
Definitely a Hoplosternum. I failed to notice the Adipose fin (between the Dorsal and Caudal fins) and the bony plates around the Pectoral fin. Thanks Mog.
