Is there something wrong with my red jewel cichlid?

I've had my cichlid here for about 2.5 months he's housed with African cichlids his size. They all seem to get along. Today I noticed this discoloration in some of his scales, only the one spot. It doesn't look like anything I've ever treated before. I just want to know if its a sickness or if its a scratch/ battle scar

Looks like your fish just cut himself on a rock or something. A closer pic might make it easier to tell.

Looks like an injury to me. Does it look like the scales are roughed up a bit?
