It depends on which specific transcriptus you have. If they're the Gombe variant they're a bit larger and generally more aggressive than the several other transcriptus.
You really only have enough floorspace for 2 species of substrate spawners in a 4' tank.
Cyp's really should be kept in a 6' tank, though Paracyp's would fit well in a 75. They're more of a rock dweller than an open-water fish like Cyp's.
Calvus or comp's mix well, avoid any members of the brichardi complex though.
A trio of multi's or a pair other shelldwellers would also be workable.
A group of Synodontis petricola or lucipinnis catfish would mix well with whichever cichlids you like.
An elipsifer spiney eel would work, but they're cichlid egg and fry eaters.

The Paracyp's are actually a deeper-water fish that prefer vertical rock faces fo spawning. They'll hang around the mid-upper parts of the tank if it's suitably set up IME.
If you want active middle-top swimmers to mix with rock-huggers like transcriptus a trio of sailfin mollies or similar livebearers would do well in the hard, alkaline water Tang's prefer.
Calvus and comp's are fry predators, they'd be quite effective for controlling livebearer numbers. Not as likely to get many/any Julie fry though, they tend to stick together and stay out of reach.

I agree Cyprichromis leptosoma would work, just don't go for the jumbo ones. Any of the shell dwellers are also an option. You can have a catfish like Synodontis Multipunctuatus (Cuckoo).

I just have recognised what you say here. There is no point to put livebearers form Sault America to a tank where there are Sault African cichlids. I would say stick to at least one continent in this case more like one lake in one tank. There are planty of choices from the Lake Tanganyika.
