Tiger terror, question: which species are you inquiring about?

The title of this thread is Johanni females (johanni's are melanochromis johanni), yet electric blue johanni's (which are melanochromis cyaneorhabdos) are queried in the first post.

The females of the two species are entirely different in appearance.

kay-bee extremely good point. i think i got a pic of the one they meant, hopefully, since they didnt complain
they are found in most good lfs with cichlid stock, or from a website selling cichlids x

So today I caught the "m.johanni" killing one of my ele blue ahli's,to say least I won't have a killer in my tank so I've rehomed him......

Haps + mbuna's generally not a good mix.

i agree, but sometimes they work. i recently saw a happy tank of mbuna, a few haps and a JD. but the JD was quite old and happy
