I was thinking about getting a couple of moss balls for my cichlids to chew on as a "veggie snack"...
Would my fish eat it? (Frontosa, Calvus, Bichardi, Compressies, Morii, Leleupi and deepwater Haps)
Would it be beneficial?

Interesting idea. I have no idea if they would eat it. Let us know if they do.

Moss balls can be a little pricey too

I would think that any herbivorous fish would eat it. Im not sure if they would like the taste though.

They will destroy your filter. Expect to see them shredded up into little pieces all over your tank. Don't do it.
