Hey folks, I have started to build my new future cichlid tank. It is a 86 gallon tank I have built using glass out of a set of patio doors. I have about $10 in this tank so far. I have some bracing to make then let it cure. Hopefully will water test it on Monday. The dimension are 51 long x 22 wide x 17 tall.

Is the bottom glass tempered? How thick is the glass and what type of glass is it?
It looks nice:)

It's all 1/4 inch glass I got the top together last night. I don't believe I will have to worry about thickness. All aquarium calculators said that thickness would be good. And I double plated the top. Going to water test it tonight.

Well I let the tank sit for a few days and I water tested it for 2 more days. It held water and held together. Now I am going to build a stand for it next week.

Well done looks amazing...can you build me one

Would love to. But until I get a little more experience under my belt I am only building my own. It's not really all that hard. Just do a lot if research.

Yeah haven't got around to have been wanting too though.

Finally got my tank stocked and decorated. Very happy with the outcome.

I'll be very honest, I'm so tough on aqua scapes. I man we all have out own ways don't get me wrong and I believe in being honest with people in a very respectful manner. Those that know me know that about me lol. I wasn't crazy about your scape at first but when I sit back and REALLY take a look I'm really feeling it. It's natural and it reminds me like the washed up shoreline of a river or stream. The piece of what looks like cinderblock on the right was a nice touch and I'm happy to see some driftwood.

Also the lighting gives it that tea color look like tannins in your water. I've always loved that look.

I say you've accomplished a very unique scape that works!!!!

Great job!! Kudos my friend!

I was able to use hard scape stone off of a house that we were building. It is made out of airyated concrete. Very light stone to work with. Thanks for the props. I really enjoyed setting it up.
