New apistos.

Today I went and picked up a trio of triple red apistogramma cacatuoides. Male is about 1.75" and females about 1".

Very nice! Are apistos too rowdy to put a pair in a 36 gallon w a pr of GBR and some tetras? Too small of a tank?

I don't think so. IME they are less aggressive than rams. I keep a number of dwarfs in a 36 successfully.

I found a seller on aquabid who happened to be a few miles down the road. I got these size for $10 each. He had smaller for $15 a pair that's what he sells on aquabid.

Aquadvisor said I'd be 93% stocked and have over 300% filtration for tank if I add 2 apisto. Hmmmmmmmmm

The only problem aquadvisor has with my stock is "aggression" with my rams. And aquadvisor tries to understock IMO

+1. I live in northeast ohio have alot of lfs and NONE can even find these guys. Ive been looking for 2+months

Yea i got lucky. It's usually the same over here in northern Illinois

I hope they stay. My friend has had some trouble keeping the eggs his Macmasteri trio lays periodically. I hope yours fare better

I hope they do too. They were hatched in the same water conditions as mine so I think they should be okay but they are small and it's defiantly their first spawn

Apistogramma cacatuoides? They were supposed to get agassizi but never got them in my area.
