New Cichlid tank

I am Getting a 55 gallon tank. I am wondering what my options would be dealing with central american cichlids. was thinking about one jack dempsey and two convicts. i was also wondering about firemouth (obiously not with all the others). Any advice?

I would go with a single jack and a firemouth pair as the cons would be to aggressive for the jack to deal with.

A pair of firemouths will claim the whole tank as their territory when they spawn, even the Dempsey won't be safe/happy with them guarding eggs or fry. I have some juvie cutteri available that would be a better choice; they only claim a small territory when they spawn, and don't trash tankmates in the process.
