.25 ppm of ammo is not correct, should be 0, if you were in a glass box being smothered with noxious fumes you'd be cowering in a corner too. Not trying to be a ******* here but think about it..

In the terms of a fishin cycle it is recommended that ammonia doesnt reach over 0.25 which is what the OP wanted information on and which the thread is addressing. A cycled tank should read 0 on a home testing kit and to get to the finish line during the cycle keep it below 0.25 A fishless cycle is easy to do and seeing as you spoke about 0 ammonia, fishless cycling is a way of exposing them to as little to no ammonia at all which has to be benifical and a healthy practice!

Two African cichlids only in the tank? Most likely one is bullying the other plus the high ammonia puts added stress on the fish.

No there is others in there they look quite happy ,sadly the yellow lab died yesterday.
