Ok, What are some good treats for an oscar? Ive been told not to feed freeze dried, what about mealworms? How often should I give my O a treat? And I there any supplements to give him extra calcium or that can make him healthier? Hes already healthy I just wanna make sure.

Thank

Brian

Always, first and foremost start with a quality pellet. NLS, Omega 1, Or Hikari are the best. You can soak their pellets in Boyd's Vitachem, which is good for them. Not necessary, but still good for them.

As for treats, that's up to you. I do frozen blood worms, brine shrimp, and beef hearts so far. Maybe Mysis Shrimp eventually as well and Frozen Krill. I give them a treat once a week-week and a half or so.

To add on to my last post, make sure he is accepting pellets and eating them before feeding a treat. If he ever stops eating pellets because he wants a treat, don't give him a treat for a while.
