Parrot cichlid compatibility

I want to rescue a baby parrot cichlid from a unhealthy environment. But curious if he will attack my 2 german blue rams, platys and corys in my 55 gallon planted tank?? Can I keep him??

Would not keep him with rams. Is much more aggressive than they are.

They are a hybrid species that includes convict (zebra) cichlids in their dna. Not something you want to add to a ram community tank. A no pair community for a parrot cichlid could work with convicts, jack dempseys, green terrors, some catfish and maybe, MAYBE, giant danios. This would be dependent on tank size what you could keep and each fishes temperament is. And all the same sex no need to hybridize further lol.

Ok. Really sad now cuz he reminded me of a parrot and my wife wont let me get a bird. So I thought this was the best of both worlds.

Maybe join an aquarium club near you and see if one of them will save him
