Im weighing up cichlid options for a tank. I was thinking maybe filling a tank with breeding pairs of peacocks... 1 of a selection of males and one female of each. To be honest i feel alittle stupid even asking because i cant see this working myself because of many reason..

1. A 3 to 1 ration of males to female is recommended to stop single females being constantly harrased.

2. The males would never stop fighting so the weaker and smaller males would be killed or at least most becoming nervous top corner tank outcasts lol.

Whats you opinion. Would you ever attempt something like this?

Nope, I have enough trouble trying to keep aggression and stress down in my all male tank =) at least, I think it's all male

With Peacocks I would honestly stick to one species per tank with a 1:3 ratio like you said, preferably a species with lower conspecific aggression. Or simply do an all male tank.
