Pirahna in mourning

My pirahna is depressed! I separated him from a larger pacu he had bonded with. He got larger and started roughing up the pacu, so I took the pacu back to the fish store. For a whole week, the pirahna hasn't eaten a thing! I cleaned the tank, checked the filters, etc., but nting helps. Would another pirahna about the same size cure his separation anxiety?

I think that it might be on a per fish basis. There really is no way to tell how he will react to new company. I remember reading a similar story involving oscars once, and I seem to remember the remaining partner being aggressive to any newcomers.
