Don't quote me but one pleco is enough from what I read. I have a 60 gallon African cichlid tank. I have 32 in there. It keeps the aggression down.

A common plec can feet to two feet and needs a 200 gallon tank.

I'd remove the common plecos, the banjo (they hide a lot, and are South American) and I'm not sure what the butterfly is, but if it's anomalochromis thomasii, then they are a peaceful WEST African and for that reason will not do well with rift lake (east African) cichlids for the most part, even the more docile ones like labidochromis species

Also acei grow to large and are to active to be in a 55

Yeah, scarp the common plecos for sure.

Get a synodontis petricola catfish there from the rift lakes and will lay their eggs with the Cichlids eggs so the cichlids raise there young

They prefer groups if i remember correctly so i would say get atleast 2.. they are quite entertaining i have 4
