The lady at lfs said he's a hap but I don't remember what kind she said. I thought he was a peacock, but I'm not sure.. Thanks!

Defiantly not aulancara, but I'm not great at identifying haps. If say he's from Malawi just from size and shape though

This is a good site I used for my peacocks. Sorry don't know what kind of Hap you have.

best pic yet, it looks like he will be blue/orangish speckled on body w/ blackish under fins.. dorsal edged in white with black underneath, tail and dorsal orangish/yellow speckles. I've been looking at hap profiles.. maybe copadichromis, ? I still don't know what he is.. Thanks in advance for opinions.

I called the lfs and they said he's a deep water hap! When searching online they look pretty different, but there are some similarities. He's still pretty small too.. about 5 in. I planned on upgrading to a 125g soon. Do I need to go larger, I've read they get big

His dorsal fin looks quite similar to my Red Empress, but not really the rest of his body.

I finally got it! He's not a vc 10. He's a Placidochromis Mbamba or Electra "Superior" ..was driving me nuts =)

I don't think that ID is right either... =( That fish is all orange on the body and mine is orange up top only. He's got sea green coloring starting on jaw line, looks like bottom part of head will be green and top blue. The coloring on dorsal tipped in yellowish, then white, then black.. with orangish spots. anal fin is grey, I assume it will be black. It looks like parts of tail will be too.. He's got the black mark through the eye.. Here's some new pics, as always help much appreciated. Blue otter? Jalo reef? I hope he's an identifiable fish.
