I have a 60 gallon African Cichlid tank that had a pleco in it. He just died, had him for 13 years. How would I go about acclimating a new one to the tank? Or could they just be put right in?

I've had Bristlenose, Royals and a Gold Nugget in with Africans with no problems. As long as there are plenty of hiding spots and driftwood to munch on, its probly fine to just acclimate him into the main tank. You will have to take into consideration possible large PH differences between the water at your LFS and your African tank.
