PLS explain GH/KH test and how to use API African Mineral Salts!

Ok, I am having a hard time understand how to properly use this test kit, (GH+KH), and how much to dose API African Mineral Salts for my cichlid tank. I may be a bit slow but I have read the back instructions on the bottle and packaging and cannot figure this out. Someone with extensive knowledge and experience who wouldn't mind shedding some light on this topic would be of great help to me right now! I feel like I may be adding too much or too little African Mineral Salts to my tank and its worrying me. Thank you in advance!

No they are tank raised, and its around 8-8.2

Then imo there is no reason to test or add any minerals or salts
