Here's my mixed Americas 55 gallon. Three convicts, a pair of Jack Dempsey (male is an EBJD,) two female black Acaras, and about seven black skirts.

Oh, and a blue Florida cray.

Hi there! I have a male yellow ciclid hiding inside my drip woods 2 days already. but before that he was so aggressive and was chasing the rest of the fish then go bck inside. Its like he doesn't want anybody get inside. Its my first time to have a ciclid so no idea about this behavior. Is he spawning?

Yellow labidochromis? What kind of cichlid are you taking about? A fish won't spawn without a mate.

No such thing as a yellow Labidochromis.

Also mbuna commonly interbreed.

If the fish you believe to be holding is indeed a Labidochromis caeruleus, do you have any male mbuna in the tank?

I know this post is from a little while back but they both appear to be males in my opinion.

Electric yellow and yellow lab are common names for the fish, Labidochromis caeruleus is the scientific name, you used half of each.

And I was adding a male of the same type isn't necessary for a holding mbuna, as they often interbreed.
