Aquarium Advice Addict
Been a while since I actually asked advise
Well, here we go. I'm gonna try to get photos of this later, but can't at this moment.
I have 3 albino oscars. I bought them from the same tank, at the same time, while they were all the same size, just under 3 inches. That was back around early October.
Now, fast forward to the present. Two of the oscars are now about 5 inches. They look perfectly healthy, good shape. The third though, is now about 6 inches. He's much 'fatter' than the other two, for whatever reason. He also has a very 'wide' forehead and a flattened face, like he ran into the glass going 60mph and smashed his nose in. His mouth is much bigger, and doesn't seem capable of closing it entirely.
I know telling oscar's apart by sex is nearly impossible, but would this be any indication? My hope is for 1M/2F, as this seems most likely to work for an oscar trio. Since they are albino's, I'm also willing to concede maybe the third is somewhat genetic deformed. He seems perfectly healthy (As evidenced by obviously seeming to eat more than the others), but I'd like to get some opinions.
I'll try to get some good close up pics when I get home, but my camera isn't the best for fish pics
Edit: I should add that the other two look like a typical oscar profile. The larger almost looks pacu'ish with the broad flat face. Also, being albino tigers (Not albino reds), all three have the red scale 'strip' patterns, but the third has the largest and most visible amount of red scales.
