Rainbow cichlids & severums

Anyone who has cichlids, can you please tell me all the fish you can think of that can be housed with rainbow cichlids and severums? Thanks.

A lot depends on how large your tank is! Rainbow cichlids are relatively peaceful for a CA/SA cichlid and 'severums' aren't excessively aggressive either. That being said....they're still both cichlids that reach a moderate size and obviously you wouldn't want to put anything in there that they will bully or eat.

Give us a little more information regarding the tank and maybe we can come up with something a bit more specific.

thanks for replying....I currently have a 75 gallon... I am wondering if they are too aggresive to be housed with fish like catfish, clown loaches, angels, kuhli loaches....? because I don't want an only cichlid tank if I get them.

I would say no angels, the others should be fine except maybe the loaches.

The catfish (depending on what kind) and clown loaches will probably do just fine with those fish in a 75 gallon. Angelfish (which are also cichlids) might have a tougher time because they're slower moving due to their body shape and can't defend themselves particularly well. Kuhli loaches, I'm afraid, look too much like worms to do very well in a tank with large-mouthed cichlids.

If I remember correctly....they were about $15 per fish.

I think most loaches would be fine; including the clown.

I was thinking about getting a severum. They seem like great, personable fish.
If I did I would have to get rid of my danios and change the water parameters (they like slightly acidic water)
Just doesnt seem worth it to me.
However, I plan on buying a 100+gal tank soon and getting some cichlids.
