Ram ID?

I got 2 of these guys in a tank labelled, blue ram, gold ram, bolivian ram. So I asked the lfs guy which one this was ... he claims they are long-fin rams ... they just didn't get labelled. Can anyone clarify if there is such a species?

PS: I uploaded a couple new pics into my galler including (platy fry, chinese butterfly loach)

I'm going with my gut and saying these beauties are the result of selected breeding and are probably a cross of a couple of different ram species.

From my personal experience, there are long fin Blue Rams and the first one definitely looks like one. The second picture looks like a regular Male Blue Ram.

Definitely not bolivians. The bolivians are much bigger and not as colorful. It looks like you have both males too. I could be wrong, but it looks like the long fin one has that long extended dorsal fin, which indicates male. The second one still looks young and could still develop it later on. That's what I think.

They look like the german blues my lfs had. From the long pelvic fins, I would say they both are males.

Planning to breed jibboo? If so, all the blue rams, german blues and gold rams will breed together. They are all the same species, but different colors.

Now all you need are some females. Pink bellies are a good indication of females.

They both look like blue rams to me... but prolly shouldn't take it from me. I have 7 German rams... and they definatly don't look like that...

I also have a couple other tanks w/o fish as right now I do not have the room/time and there is a chance of moving in the "near" future so I don't want to get more fish for them. I'm downsizing for the moment.

German Blues and Blue Rams are the same species of fish. The only difference is that the German Blue was obviously raised in Germany and the Blue Ram is generally caught in the wild.

Like I said before, German Blue Rams, Blue Rams, and Gold Rams are all the same species. It's the Bolivian ram that is completely different.
