Ram species and sexing

Looks like a firemouth cichlid to me. I couls easily be wrong though. I dont keep ca/sa cichlids so i dont know much about them. Im sure someone knowledgable will chime in on this.

So i take it you keep african? What minimum size tank would work for say peacocks?
 
Looks like it could be a juvenile fire mouth hence why it's missing some colour and hasn't quite filled out yet. Great fish to keep, easy to breed and entertaining to watch
 
It all depends on what species of peacocks your interested in. Some get rather large at 7". I would recomend a 4ft tank for peacocks minimum. A 75+ gallon would be great for them. The bigger the better imo.
 
I'm a few weeks away from getting a 125g. I've started to fancy the lake malawi cichlids. Given optimal rock formation how many 6"ish adults could it house? OR Could anyone suggest african species, they like, that i could research? :dance:
