I have recently aquired a 75gal tank that was saltwater. I have begun my research and am planning a malawi/mbuna tank. I was wondering if I could/should try to re-use the live rock and crushed coral substrate if it was thoroughly rinsed? Any other advice would be welcome.

I don't see any reason why not to. Save that money for more fish! I would boil it all a couple times for 30-40 mins.
