Can anyone tell me what sand is better for a cichlid tank which could be planted in some parts with carpet grass moss and amazon swords?

I tend to think less expense is the best way. Look at black diamond sandblasting sand if you want black. 8$ a 50lb bag. Pool filter sand if you want white. I think about the same price.

Good call convict! Totally forgot to cover that.

Haha no worries... Just that my guys destroyed over 40+ Anubias and java ferns when they got older. Totally destroyed my tank and filters were all clogged. Had to clean everything and take whatever plants were left out.

But I agree black sand looks nice. I went with the Tahitian moon sand more expensive but that's just me.

+1 to Tahitian moon sand. I love it. I was using some the cheaper pfs type sand on my tank before, and all my fish were faded in color. Not sure if it was the brightness or just them adjusting to the sand color, but once I switched the sand out for the caribsea black every single fish in the tank had color I never even knew they had.

Here's what I'm talking about.
