I know they are a little difficult to sex, but is anyone experienced enough to tell me what to look for?

Any sure fire ways to tell?

 Well Tiffi, great research. I did chuckle when I read these articles because my males and females break the rules. Much like angelfish, discus can only be sexed when the spawning tubes are present.

I will say that my males are generally larger than females, and my females tend to be more aggressive than males. That's a clue to me in younger fish but by no means a garrauntee.
