Shark with a cichlid

When I upgrade can I add a shark to my tank? I have a 5 inch pleco and tiny feather finned catfish also in my batch of peacocks. Thanks

A shark? Do you mean a freshwater "shark" species? And if so, which one, as there are about 2 dozen fish that are called "sharks"

Yes I was looking to get a Bala shark.

Balas prefer to be in groups and aren't very well suited for an African tank IMO

I've seen tanks with rainbow sharks..and cichlids... Not sure the compatibility in water ph levels
