there is a film growing over one eye of my placidochromis Electra. what is it?
he's been in the tank a couple of months and has never really been bullied.
all the other fish seem fine and all the water parameters are normal.
can anyone help?

Looks like cloudy eye. Maybe bump your temps add some salt and keep an eye on it. If it doesn't go away there is meds you can get from petco/smart. It can be deadly if not treated I believe

thanks for getting back so quickly. is there any reason for cloudy eye? I've bumped the temp up and will shop for some meds. thanks again.

I believe it is just some type of bacterial infection. One if my fish had it similar to yours I add a bunch of salt and the next day he was back to normal

I have cichlid salt. I'll try that. thanks again.

No problem, that should work fine otherwise aquarium salt is cheap. If things don't get better I believe the macryn 1 and 2 will clear it up.

no worries. thanks very much. it's the first time ive had a sick fish and I got a bit panicky. lol.
