I have a 55gal Malawi Cichlid tank. One of my two Pseudotropheus Socolofi is acting weird. He was one of my 1st fish. He hasn't gotten that much bigger in 3 months, like the others have. He hides under a piece of slate until feeding time. The problem is that his tail fin seems "deformed", maybe too small for his body. And until recently, his pectoral and anal fins weren't being used. Anyway, he won't come to the top to eat because the other fish have surpassed him in size, so he freaks out. I have to make sure and put a pinch of food into the water so it sinks to his area and then he eats like a pig. I'm sure he's just a scaredy-cat, but being my 1st cichlid, he's the most special. My parameters are fine, amm 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 20, PH 8.0 and temp is about 80. Someone please advise me as to what to do with this character.
