strange fish

can any one tell me what kind of chichlid this is ? so I can read more about it

I wish that this was posted yesterday morning!! I was at the LFS and saw the same kind of fish. It was beautiful.

All I can say is that it's African, but I can't remember the rest. I do remember how the face was a beautiful bluish-purple irridescent.
 
it is a peacock cichlid. very beautiful and come in many different varieties so it is hard to identify thet specific. check out THIS site for some identifications. i forget the genus they are in but someone will chime in i am sure.
 
Its definitely a peacock. Possibly Aulonocara stuartgranti? Not sure which morph though. Maybe the cichlid experts can give a more accurate ID. :)
 
Do you have a clear side shot? It looks simliar to two fish that we have. One has a brown bar stiping on the side and the other does not.
 
It looks to be either Aulonocara stuartgranti or A. jacobfreibergi; too many color variants of each to be able to tell for sure.
