Stuck in a cave.

My Electric blue hap has gotten himself stuck in a cave 3x in the last 2 weeks. I have large rock caves he fits in, and small ones he doesn't. The first two times he got out himself, but today he was lying flat, not moving. I moved the cave to a bucket and ripped it open with pliers to get him free. He's fine, apparently. Although he hasn't been eating, and seems constipated.

I'm wondering did I over reacte? Could he have gotten himself out eventually. Should I remove all the small caves, he's my largest fish.

You'd think he'd learn. I just don't want him to get stuck while I'm at work and die.

I probably would've removed the cave after he got stuck in it the first or second time lol, but as for the constipation, if you blend up some peas and garlic, then freeze it and break it into a small piece to feed him, it should help remedy it (garlic being the main thing that helps with their digestion). I'd remove any cave he could fit in before it happens again, but up to you though.

It's been a different cave every time, there just small caves. I rescaped it is he couldn't get an angle into the smaller entrances. My fault for thinking he's be smart enough not to go into those.

Thanks for the tip on the peas, I actually put some frozen peas in a cup of tank water, and then mixed in some garlic powder. He ate them. Not as much as so would have liked, but he ate. So hopefully that helps

I am assuming he was constipated because he ate a whole chunk of beef heart a few days ago. And his anus looked a little swollen.

Don't worry if they got themselves in they can get out. My solcofi goes under rocks and gets stuck but then turns sideways to get out
