Tank in big trouble

So I was reading through this just to gain some knowledge. I'm lost about using this python. Rocksor mentioned to add the water conditioner before refilling. I get that, but what about the buffer and salt? I have a python but have only used it to drain my tanks

You can add rift lake salts into a cup or bucket and add enough water to it to let it break down then add it to the tank at the same time as filling up.

I'm afraid to try. I'm so used to hauling buckets. But my biggest tank is only a 75

Add water conditioner to the fish tank (dosing for the entire tank volume). Then dissolve the salts and other buffers in a bucket and slowly add it to the fish tank as you refill with the python.
