Tank mates question

I have acquired a jack dempsey and i'm hesitant on what fish to add to the tank. I do re-arrange the tank so it can't establish a territory. Any suggestions?

First question, what size tank?

Actually I ended up giving him to a friend. I decided i'd start a community of tetras and some other assorted fish so I could actually have some plants without the cichlids digging em up. But i have a 38 gallon bow front.

Ah yes if you want plants that is an excellent choice. Cichlids love to make salad out of plants.

Ha yeah I think its a better choice. I may eventually but for now I think that'll work.
