I had a multitude of issues with my 36g housing a EBJD and a pleco. Pleco was rehomed and the Dempsey was treated for a recurrence of HLLE. He's on an upswing now and gaining weight.
Because of Mr. Dempsey's health issues, I've decided to purchase a 90g - 120g (48" length - space issues) but for this discussion let's say it's the 90. After setup, I will consider purchasing a female JD and some either Boesemani Rainbow and/or Red Irian Rainbow or other. Opinions? I'd like to plan carefully and reduce potential issues. I believe the female JD should be larger than the male EBJD? He's now about 6" from tip of nose to tail end. Should I introduce the female at the same time that he is added to the larger tank? (Current filter, Fluval 305, would go to new tank and will be adding a 405) Not wanting to overload the BB, how many of the rainbows should be added at a time and how many total?
