Tell me about your apistos

I've read and read about apistos. Doing my research on my own, but I'd like to hear about your personal experiences with your apistos. Which species do you prefer? Do you breed them or not? Who are their tankmates? Photos are welcome.

I'm cycling a 29g. It'll be heavily planted. I'd like to try apistos but not sure I want to breed them. I have a school of black skirts that could go into the tank, and haven't figured out what else to put in. I don't want to overstock so perhaps only a solo fish like a gourami. I have plenty of time to research while the tank cycles.

Looking to hear what you like about your apisto buddies and what you'd share with an apisto beginner.

I have mine (apisto agassizi double red) in a 20 gallon he is male. He is in with plecos guppies and a school of tetras. Likes flake food ok but loves blood worms. Need heavy planting stays at bottom. Like ph in mid 6 range will go insane for blood worms he flips out! I love him. Planing on getting another soon or gbr can't deside? Any questions?
