I have a 70 gallon tank, and I want to put some cichlids in it but bot sure which kind to get

Are you looking to have colorful groups of cichlids? Are you looking for a wet pet?

Would like colorful active fish, don't have a preference on planted or not

Go towards an African cichlid tank. There are colorful New World cichlids, but you get limited to the amount you can put in due to max size of a lot of these fishes. Quite often the aggression of New Worlds can't really be controlled by over crowding, whereas in African tanks you can.

Thanks! Thinking im going to go with lake Malawi mnubas, not positive yet

I've got Mbuna tank,just love the crazy b*stards ;-) I keep Saulosi,Polits,Neon spots,Red tops,Afra jalo reef,Yellow labs,Golden plecs & Just ordered 3 Cuckoo catfish,which will be with me Tuesday morning ;-)

I have a mix of Mbumas, peacocks, and haps in my 75g and they all get along fine

I wouldn't put HAPS with Mbuna mate ;-( it might work if they was all juveniles, but most HAPS are a lot bigger than Mbuna ? They say stick to a certain lake ?

I've noticed in a 6' tank that they don't do to bad together. A matter of fact the only aggression I see is haps vs haps
