I have had 2 surprise deaths in my tank one dragon blood and one Red fin borleyi I’m a bit worried about this and I’m not sure what’s causing the problem I’ve done 2 tests and all results are fine and with my usual expectations has anyone got any idea what could be causing this the borleyi was probably the most aggressive in the tank and also the second biggest then I get home from work today and he’s died I’m a bit worried photo of the tank bellow

What are the actual water parameter measurements? (Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate/pH/Temp)
Water change schedule?
Stocking?
Filtration?
Tank Size?

Any history of disease? Any photos of the dead phish?

I scooped the fish out and disposed of them straight away the tank is 200L
Ehiem professional 2 filter
50% weekly changes
.25pm ammonia tends to hover there
0pm nitrite
5pm nitrate
8.4 ph
26 degrees C

Stock
6 yo-yo loaches
1 yellow lab
1 yellow tail acie
1 OB peacock
1 strawberry peacock
1 neon blue
1 gold
1 sunshine

And no history of disease

Using test strips or liquid test kit?

0.25ppm ammonia is enough to kill phish. Could be an issue.

Did you properly cycle the tank?
Water change source water vastly different than tank measurements?

Water source fairly close tbf and the fish have been in over 2 months now and these are the first problems so I believe the cycle was correct and I use liquid it’s measured at between 0 and .25 ever test the last month or so but the nitrate does go up so I’m guessing that’s not the problem

Hi I have just done a 50% water change now 0 0 0-5pm nitrate it’s between the 2 I’ll see how this goes and if any more pass away I’ll pop back to ask more questions
