I got this guy about a month ago. He has doubled in size since and developed this blackish line. The Lfs that I picked him up at sold him to me as a Crimson tide. My question is was I dupped? And if not does the coloration improve? Don't get me wrong I am still very impressed with this one

I think I did ok. This is an adult crimson. I think the patterns are matching up

Defiantly not a crimson tide, looks more like a flameback (the last pic you've uploaded)

i agree it looks like a flameback. the crimson in the photo you posted has a solid black line across its face and eye. in the pic you posted this line appears to be absent.

Mine is only a juvenile. 1 1/2" just starting to color

That is not a adult crimson tide... That is a adult flame back!!
