Have two GBR In my 20 gallon along with 10 rasboras and a nerite/assassin snail.
Now I know GBR need pristine water conditions so my question is, can I use a mix of RO water and tap water, or just tap water, or just RO water?

I just use de-chlorinated tap water. If you got your GBR's locally, then they probably get their water from the same source. Most GBR's purchased these days are tank bred, so they don't necessarily need soft, acidic water like wild specimens. I think as long as you keep your nitrates at 20ppm or lower you should be good, but I like to keep mine below 10ppm.

However, if you want to breed them, then you may look into mixing RO/DI water with your tap water. Other than that you should be fine. Enjoy your little jewels!
