Worried About Convicts :/

So I have a problem. A water changing problem. I haven't been able to do a water change for the past 3 weeks. My male convict is so spazzy and if I open the top he splashes me and freaks out. I'm afraid he'll either jump out or hurt himself. What should I do?

Well it seems he has calmed down a good bit. I opened the top and he came up to the surface, but when I put the siphon in he went right in his pot. I did a good 60% change and his water is looking much better.

Sorry I can't help! Glad o hear you got to change the water and he seems to have calmed down... Hope things get back to normal soon

In the future I would do the water changes anyway. Just leave the lid as closed as possible or something, or put the siphon in and walk away if you have to. My EBJD is pretty skiddish when I start messing with his tank but it still needs to be done.
