yellow lab question

I've usually seen chiclids in at least pairs. I was just wondering would it b better 2 get multiple labs or would one b OK by itself. I don't want 2 overcrowd

how big of a tank and what fish do you have? Yellow labs aren't pairing fish.. you need multiple females for every male to avoid a lot of aggression.
