i wish i could get a picture, but i can not manage...

tank particulars...

45 gallon tank...
2 Protomelas taeniolatus
3 Labidochromis caeruleus (Lion's Cove II?)
3 Maylandia callainos
3 Pseudotropheus socolofi "Albino"
1 Synodontis eupterus

of the labs i belive i ended up with 2 males and one female :? (sexing was determined by the amount of black in the fins... i am not hardcore enough to pull out all the rocks, stress out all the fish until i find the one i want and pull it out and look at it vents  ) the smaller male is got what can be one described as a distended jaw (i know what you are thinking...holding) but he still eats...

thoughts?

the only thing i can think of is he is injured...

The females pelvic and anal fins should be white with no black markings. Also depending on their size, males get a bluish sheen to their cheeks. They also should not be interested in food if they are holding.Without a pic I can't be of much more aid, sorry.

Sexing Yellow Labs is very difficult. Venting is really the only real sure way to sex them. I will assume your small male is a female and is holding, even though she/it is eating.
