I have Yellow Labs with Rusty, Hara sp, & Mainganos, in a 75 gallon tank.. If you don't plan on breeding, Red Zebras are pretty cool, but they can & most likely will cross breed.. Red zebras are the orangeish colored fish under assorted cichlids at petsmart.. If you've been there & looked before..

Pseudotropheus Saulosi are not aggressive, females are yellowy orange, males are blue & black stripes with yellowish fins ;-) or Afra jalo reef, light blue & black stripes are the males, females washed out ;-)

How aggressive would you say they are?

Unfortunately yellow labs are african Cichlids, the only thing they should be stocked with is other african "mbuna" Cichlids. I don't understand what you mean by "not trying to make a cichlid tank" ??

The only non cichlid for the most part are catfish that will get along with them.

I was afraid of that I have never owned cichlids before and I only recently acquired them from a friend who seemed darn determined to just let them die and move on to his next aquatic misadventure. They are confined to a 10 gallon tank while the 55 gallon tank I just set up is cycling.
