I finished the canopy fpr the 10gal nano , made the reflector tonite . I insulated between the wood and the reflector with alum. foil.
Here's a pic of the inside (the brackets for the fluorescent are drilled through so the hold the reflector as well and the center CF socket is drilled through with the switch in the outside .

Ok my latest DIY project with the nano is a skimmer I'm building , should have it running some time this week . Also
the refuge seems to be working as the Cheto is growing and i'll need to trim it back soon , the nitrates are testing 0 and I see some pods floating in the tank when I disturb the fuge , also have some nice red feather dusters growing in the algae .

The spiral CF are Phillips 6700k , also have 20w 18000k power glo and 20w aticnic ( clips for tubes in pic ,18000 in front aticnic in rear . ) . Last picture is with just T8 lighting - CF was off .

There is a good thread in another forum with pics and very detailed directions . Here's mine so far , still needs the output drilled and set-up for side of tank and drain line for skim as it doesn' t have a removable container . I am actually making two this 14 inch-80gal/h version and a 17 inch 140gal/h .

Haven't updated in a while ,but all is good with my 10gal . It now contains around 20-25lbs of LR and livestock includes Tuxdeo Urchin , CBS , Green Chromis , O clown , Lawnmower Blenny and Red Scooter Dragonet . Corals added are more Zoos and mushrooms , Toadstool and Frogspawn . All remains stable as far a paramters and except for the BTA getting too close to a=the intake for the fuge (didn't survive) . The cleanup crew of 6 astrea snails and 3 nassarius snails are doing a great job .

The sinularia didn't waht a picture taken - never opened til after .

Figured i post a pic with the Blastomussa and some new mushrooms and zoas . If finally seeing coraline growth on the tanksides and intake tube - guess it is growing faster then the urchin is eating it . Also how often do you trim back macro in your fuge- seems I can trim mine every 3-4 weeks.
