I have been considering a new picotope ( I already have a 30 gallon FOWLR) and I had a few questions (they make me sound like a rookie) but here they are:

-How many pounds of live rock?
-How many inches of sand?
-Would the cycling process take less time because of the size? ( I know that the normal is about 4-6 weeks)
-What inverts besides shrimp and hermit crabs would best live in the picotope?

Thanks

I got 7 pounds (cured premium fiji) in mine and 1 1/2 inches of "live" sand also got the "live" water and some gunk from the LFS refugium and that was it. It didn't have to cycle. Everything was at 0. Almost a week later and the numbers are the same. I got the Eclipse System 3 not the Pictotope but it's the same size.

BTW- My Maroon clown and three hermits are all doing fine.

Thanks, how big is your maroon? Do you think it will grow the tank out? Dont they get too big?

He's tiny. By the time he get's big enough he'll go into the 75 gallon (all in one) reef I'll have set up.

I just have one mushroom right now but will be getting more- polyps probably. Yes, I do have a powerhead in the tank.
