Aquapods

I just discovered this website and forum. I am a total newbie when it comes to any of this, but am considering starting with a 12 gallon Aquapod. The guys at my local aquarium assure me this is good for saltwater fish.

Does anyone have experience with an Aquapod? Thanks so much for any information!

WELCOME TO AA!!!

Please do not cycle your tank with live animals.

When starting out, bigger is better. The bigger the tank the more room for error.
I'm going to move this to the nano section.

Welcome to AA.
If your interested in fish a 12 gal is not going to provide many options. The general rule of thumb is 1" of adult fish per 5 gallons, so the biological filtration is not overwhelmed. Nano tanks are more for housing inverts, such as shrimp, coral, etc., b/c they do not add to the bio-load of a tank. You may be able to keep a small fish singly, or maybe two very small fish(<1.5") like neon gobies. Sorry I'm not familiar w/ that tank, but I HTH.

I have a nano and have a single firefish in it and the rest is coral....They are nice little systems but I would go with the larger version if you can...24...it will give you more room for error as Roka said and will allow you to have a few more fish....

Frogspawn hears surf in the shell
i have a 24g aqua pod and i loved it. but i wanted to go a little bigger and got a 30go. i still have my aqua pod waiting for the right time to set it up again.
cons: before i purchased my aqua pod i did research on it. i found that some people had the ccornors crack and leak all the water out. i have never had this happen and i think they did something to hinder the structure integrity of the aquarium. weather it was picking it up or moving it while it had water in it, or maybe it was shipped wrong. over all, i was very pleased with the aqua pod. only thing i can tell you to do is, the screws holding the plastic shield covering the PC lighting THEY WILL RUST very quickly. please replace them with a non rusting screw. maybe go to your local hardware store and get a plastic screw or something of that nature. other then that. good luck with the aquarium. i hope you enjoy it like i did.
