Cyno Busters, na na ... na na na ... Cyno Busters
any suggestions on busting the cyno in my tank. my understanding is that (like diatoms in the FW tank) cyno is normal for a new tank. but it looks gross on the glass and on the sand. does anything eat it? i have uped the current by adding a powerhead. but the reddish pink film on the glass is just annoying.

Cyano in a tank, of any age, is not a normal thing. Diatoms in a SW are normal and will burn themselves out. Cyano... not so. Here's a good article...
http://www.aquariumadvice.com/articl...ae-/Page1.html The key is getting rid of excessive nutrients (nitrates/phosphates). |
